Don’t Use Just Any Old Paint on Bathrooms

Answers to pro painters’ most pressing questions by Rick Watson

What is the best paint to use for bathrooms and why?

I would suggest using Emerald® Interior Acrylic Latex Paint for a residential bathroom.

Emerald Interior is available in washable Flat, Matte, Satin and Semi-Gloss sheens and provides a long-lasting finish that is resistant to stains, scuffs, water streaking and spotting and burnishing. That makes Emerald a very washable/cleanable coating.

In addition, Emerald Interior contains an anti-microbial agent that inhibits the growth of mold and mildew on the surface of the coating film.

Allow plenty of time for the paint to cure under proper ventilation. An exhaust fan vented to the outdoors, will prevent excessive moisture build-up. Fans are well worth installing if there isn’t one already in place in your customer’s bathroom.
